About Ashling

More than anything, Ashling loves to read. She supposes that is why she loves escaping into other characters onstage so much!

Ashling Shockey is currently a senior at the University of Arizona. She will graduate in May with a  BFA in Musical Theatre. During her collegiate years, she has studied under the acting and musical direction of Hank Stratton, Christie Kerr, Brent Gibbs, Danny Gurwin, David Morden, and Jamie Reed. Collegiate dance training includes Robin Lewis, Cat Cogliandro, and Christie Kerr.

  

Collegiate work has included HEAD OVER HEELS (Mopsa), LEGALLY BLONDE (Margot), LIVING DEAD IN DENMARK (Puck/Laertes), INTO THE WOODS (Jack's Mother), A SIMPLE HERSTORY* (Tennie), AND MAD ABOUT YOU* (Soloist). 

 

Recitals/Public Performances also include "An Evening with Kristin Chenoweth."

Additional Training: Certified in Hand to Hand Combat, rapier and dagger, and broadsword.

  

Since she was five, Ashling has been on stage, singing, dancing, and telling stories through her characters.

 

Highlights of her pre-collegiate work are: a)  performing with some of her personal idols in the Tribute to Craig Zadan with Thespians Go Hollywood at the Academy in Los Angeles, as part of a fundraiser for the Educational Theatre Foundation and the International Thespian Society, b) traveling with her school choir to perform by request at the Sydney Concert Hall in Australia, and c) singing and dancing along with Shoshana Bean, Eden Espinosa, and Todrick Hall with her Southern California performing groups: Centre Stage, Inc. and Centre Stage Dance Academy.

Ashling is excited to see where her future takes her in her Broadway training.
